Amazon Jungle - Miss King
Today Amazon Jungle came to visit. Catherine explained that the animals were reptiles and many would normally live in the hot climate of the desert. We had the opportunity to closely look at them, pet them gently and learnt that they like to eat worms, crickets and mice.
Timothy the tortoise.
Marcel the chameleon
Wilbur the bearded dragon
Rio the python snake
Jellybean the gecko
Lily the frog
Alisha the tarantula
Tegu - a bohaja meaning big red.
Fun facts!
A frog has seven steps to eat.
- look at what it is going to eat
- hop to it
- land
- open its mouth
- grab the fly with its tongue - (we practised )
- close their eye to allow them to swallow the fly
Rio the snake sheds his skin every 3 months
We knew that spiders have eight legs and now also eight eyes. Catherine ask us to find our hearts and explained a spiders heart is down by their bottom and that their stomach in is in the their head!!!!!!!
Jellybean is a desert leopard gecko. He has fingers to allow him to dig down into the sand therefore he does not climb up the wall
