Beautiful Smiles - Miss Donoghue
We had a very exciting day as Laura - Sophie's mummy who is a dentist called in to help us understand how she cares for our teeth. We were able to tell her that we have been to visit our dentists for a check up and shared what food we thought would be good or bad for our teeth.
We discussed the importance of brushing our teeth for 2 minutes when we get up and before we go to bed. While we might try to clean our own teeth at the moment as we are still 3 or 4 we need a parent to help us brush our teeth. We have 20 milk teeth at the moment - try and count them in the mirror.
Laura explained that they wear protective clothes to help keep us safe, we can sit in the big dentist chair that moves so the dentist can carefully check our teeth using a tiny mirror and torch. If we have a hole/cavity the dentist might use a drill and then give us a filling so we don't get a sore tooth so best to remember to brush our teeth twice a day, enjoy healthy snacks and keep treats till the weekend.
We then showed our friends how we can clean our teeth and then Laura gave us all a party pack with a cool tooth brush, stickers, colouring in sheets and information packs for our families to read so we can all have beautiful smiles.
Thanks you Laura & Sophie we had a great day!
