We have a number of illness in the community at the moment - so are just sharing the latest guidance.  Many present on the COVID list below yet please follow the guidance at the bottom and we can return promptly when they are ready for school again.  Many thanks.

If a child has diarrhoea or vomiting they must not return until 48hrs since the last episode.

Chickenpox  - https://www.conventofmercyns.com/news-and-gallery/chicken-pox/?p=2&

COVID  - https://www.conventofmercyns.com/news-and-gallery/current-covid-19-guidance/?p=1&

Please find attached the latest guidance regarding COVID-19 - to help us remain open we must continue to be aware of the symptoms of COVID-19 and ask that you share with us immediately if your child has any symptoms or tests positive .

You can contact the school on 02844614682 (8.30 - 4.00), email us at conventofmercyns.com

Please remember:

Children who test positive must isolate for 3 days from testing positive or displaying the symptoms listed below:

(Symptoms of respiratory infections including COVID-19 - Source nidirect.gov.uk)

  • continuous cough
  • high temperature, fever or chills
  • loss of or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell
  • shortness of breath
  • unexplained tiredness, lack of energy
  • muscle aches or pains that are not due to exercise
  • not wanting to eat or not feeling hungry
  • headache that is unusual or longer lasting than usual
  • Sore throat, stuffy or runny nose
  • diarrhoea
  • feeling sick or being sick

To avoid unnecessary absences - we have the option of staying off for the three day or taking a lateral flow test.  If the test is negative with no temperature and they are in good form they can return. If they have tested negative yet have a temperature, any vomiting or diarrhoea they must stay at home.
