Pancake Tuesday (one week early)
Next week we will be on half term and we didn't want to miss out on making pancakes so we have celebrated Pancake Tuesday one week early and we had great fun and the majority of the children gave us a thumbs up!!!
The tradition of making pancakes on Pancake also known as Shrove Tuesday comes from families using up all ingredients in their cupboards so that they can start Lent the next day.
The ingredients - eggs, flour and milk - used to be very common things for people to give up for Lent, so it made sense to use them all up.
