UPDATED: All the butterflies have arrived
Over the last few days some of our butterflies have been arriving, we have been carefully watching them roll out their tongues to take a drink of the sugar water and to fly around the enclosure. We could look at the patterns on their wings - the wings are matching with symmetry. This means both wings are exactly the same.
Today Miss Donoghue’s class carefully held two of their butterflies in their hands (Twinkle Toes, Joseph, Daisy & Mr Sparkles). Some of the boys & girls in Miss Kings class carefully held one of the butterflies and we cant wait till Monday to see if the remaining cocoons have opened and we will have more beautiful butterflies .
The butterflies we had are called Painted Ladies.
