A few parents asked for advice regarding toileting and we have gathered up a few fun songs or videos for you to view and decide which suit your family. I have also attached links to the Solihill Approach for toileting.
Please use the clips you like to continue to encourage your child to grow in independence during September. The children have settled well into school and we are starting to identify the dinner groups for early October. Unfortunately if a child is coming to school in a pull up or unable to manage their needs in the toilet, we wont be able to start them for dinners as planned therefore please use the remaining few weeks to support their independence.

All children must be fully toilet trained on starting Nursery.
If a child continuously wets or soils themselves parents may be contacted to come and change their child – their time may be reduced until fully toilet trained. We have toilet training packs from the Solihull approach available from the school.
If your child needs help to be cleaned or completely changed during the school day because of a toileting issue one member of staff will assist whilst another member of staff supervises, this is in accordance with our child protection guidelines.
There are two members of staff in each classroom of 27 children and if there is a recurring need for both adults in the bathroom for toileting support, it can compromise the supervision of and interaction with the other 26 children in the classroom. This illustrates why we need to encourage toileting independence. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter. Where staff intervention is necessary in the dressing/undressing of your child the incident will be recorded and a note will be sent home informing you of the circumstances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoNoB9Lj5UE
