Wednesday Fun
Morning everyone - today is Wednesday 22nd June and a great day to get outside in the fresh air. We have a few fun activities to enjoy in the garden. You can create some chalk art which can easily be washed away in the rain or create your own stick people from stick you find in the garden.
If you don't fancy going outside just yet an activity the children really enjoy is working with a few bowls, pots, weighing scales and some flour or pasta. This will keep them busy for hours and yes they may look like Casper the ghost but they are exploring weight, counting in play and developing their hand eye coordination as they transfer the flour or pasta. Even add a little bit of water to the flour to create a simple dough and they can create delicious breads, cakes or pizzas. Then use items found in the garden to decorate them.
Set up shop- why not use items from around your home to play shops for the day. You can use costumes, food items, miscellaneous items from around the house. Use paper to design your own money and to make tags to make up prices. They can develop their number and counting skills.
The mighty cardboard box can become a fire engine, castle or a rocket with a few additional wheels and a door can be cut into the box. Or just decorate the boxes with their crayons or markers as a different type of art canvas.
